Cheltenham Concert Series at town hall

Cheltenham Town Hall is hosting an incredible orchestral concert series featuring musicians from all around the world, starting in the Autumn.

The eight-concert series, running from October 2021 to June 2022, features popular UK orchestras and prestigious visitors from the far-flung musical territories of Armenia and China.

At the podium will be familiar Cheltenham favourites such as Kenneth Woods and Marios Papadopoulos, alongside homegrown and international maestros, including Michael Collins and Sergey Smbatyan.

An array of soloists will bring some of the most popular favourites from the concerto repertoire, including Freddy Kempff (Beethoven's Emperor), Peter Donohoe (Ravel's only solo piano concerto) and Vadim Repin (Sibelius' Violin Concerto).

As well as these highlights, they are allo hosting their annual New Year Strauss Gala, plus such favourites as Beethoven's Pastoral, the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, Dvorak's New World Symphony, Mahler's First and Tchaikovsky' Romeo & Juliet, The Hebrides and the Bruch Violin Concerto No.1.

All in all, it's a heady and exciting blend of orchestral favourites and virtuosic performances. Classical music fans would not want to miss it!
