Where: Annecy, France
When: Sunday, June 21
Are you a musician in a band who would be interested in playing at the Fete de la Musique 2020 (music festival) in Cheltenham's beautiful twin town of Annecy in France? Or know someone who is?
Sunday, June 21, is the national festival of music day in France and Annecy is inviting a music group of up to six people aged over 18 from Cheltenham to participate this year. All genres of music are welcome to apply.
The invitation is from Friday, June 19, to Monday, June 22, with accommodation provided by the town of Annecy for the three nights as well as some meals.
The set would be for a maximum of one hour during the course of the Sunday on a covered outdoor stage, equipped with lighting and sound and a technician to hand. You would only need to transport your instruments.
Travel to and from Annecy would be at your own expense, although Cheltenham Twinning Association would give a contribution towards travel expenses. Transfer from Geneva airport to Annecy would be organised.
Annette Wight, Cheltenham Borough Council's twinning officer, said a band had gone over from Cheltenham to Annecy for the festival the first time last year and the French town had repeated the invitation.
Anyone interested please contact annette.wight@cheltenham.gov.uk by Saturday, February 29, and be ready to submit a video clip of your music suitable for online transmission.
