Celebration of all things Scrumpy 'n' Western
By David Wood | 4th November 2021
There's still time to grab a ticket to see The Wurzels at Stroud Subscription Rooms next week.
The West Country's finest are playing the Subs on Friday, November 12, at 8pm and will, as always, bring their celebration of all things Scrumpy 'n' Western - a genre packed full of double entendre, mainstream parody and a comical folk style.
Signed to label heavyweights Columbia and EMI, The Wurzels continue to play hundreds of sell-out shows and festivals every year and insist on returning to Gloucestershire!
Their quintessentially West Country cover of Kaiser Chiefs' 'Ruby' has been a massive show favourite of late, as well as hip hop versions of the ubiquitous originals.
The Wurzels are well known for their number one hit single The Combine Harvester and number three single I Am A Cider Drinker.
The band is made up of Tommy Banner, Pete Budd, John Morgan and Sedge Moore, who together released a long list of albums over the years, including Greatest Hits, Christmas records and live LPs.
Tickets are priced from just £21.50 + booking fee and are available from https://thesubrooms.co.uk/whats-on/wurzels-115
