Beat the winter blues with sunny singalong at charity film screening

The University of Gloucestershire and Sibling Distillery have teamed up with volunteers at a local hospice to chase away the winter blues and raise vital funds for local families needing palliative care and bereavement support.

The Mamma Mia Experience, being held at Gloucestershire University's Park Campus on Saturday, February 15, at 6pm, will raise smiles and vital funds for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

As well as enjoying a screening of the singalong version of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, guests will enjoy a Greek-style buffet, games offering prizes from paintballing parties to artwork and a wine wall with the chance of winning some top quality bottles of wine. There will also be a tasty Sibling G&T and Battledown Beer bar available, offering the chance to enjoy an ice cold G&T.

Stewart Walton, chair of the Fundraising Development Board at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: "We're really grateful to the University of Gloucestershire and our friends at Sibling Distillery for their amazing support. We wanted to organise a fundraiser that put the fun into February and the Mamma Mia Experience will really deliver.

"As well as the film we have an exclusive premier of hospice volunteers and staff singing along to the title track to get everyone in the spirit too. How can you resist this?"

Sibling Distillery joint owner, Felix Elliot-Berry has been supporting the hospice for the past two years with their fundraising and will be stocking the Sibling Gin G&T Bar and Battledown Beer bar on the night.

He added: "The team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court looked after one of my close friends and the care they gave was outstanding. Since then I have wanted to support the hospice to help make sure their vital and expert care can continue. Through the distillery and brewery we've been able to help run and stock fundraising events like this one to help raise much-needed funds for our local hospice."
