Baaarmy day in store at Frampton Sheep Racing

What do a flock of sheep, a herd of Shetland ponies, a large marquee, live music and family fun all have in common?

The Frampton-on-Severn Sheep and Pony Racing and Family Fun Day of course!

The event is now in its seventh year following a two-year pause due to the Covid-19 outbreak. It is back in Gloucestershire by popular demand, taking place on Saturday 17th September in the stunning surroundings of Frampton Court.

Featuring hilarious sheep races, pony races, live music, a BBQ, bar, tote and children's entertainment and stalls, there really is something for everyone in what promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family to enjoy.

Founded and organised by a group of dedicated villagers from Frampton-on-Severn, the event has been so popular over the last few years that it has become a fixture on the Gloucestershire wacky event calendar.

Each race is 'donated' to a local charity or organisation who are challenged with raising as much sponsorship money as possible, all of which they get to keep. The day brings together communities, raising several thousand pounds for local causes along the way. All proceeds are subsequently donated to local charities and good causes.

On the day, families can enjoy local food and drink, music and entertainment. There's even a tote for punters to place bets on their favourite sheep, before cheering them on as they jump the sheep-sized hurdles, and hope they don't make a ewe-turn! This year will also see the introduction of pony racing too.

Use of the venue has been provided by kind permission of the Clifford family.

Gates open from 1pm, with the first race starting off at 3pm. The event is due to close at 10pm, but may close at 8pm (tbc on The Facebook page). Pedestrian access is available via Fitcherbury and The Green only, with vehicle access signposted off the Perry Way.

Entry is by electronic ticket only - please log on to the Frampton Fundraisers Facebook page  - which includes the essential full programme that lists all of the runners and riders. Parking is free.
