Award-winning singer-songwriter returns to Tewkesbury

The award-winning internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Sarah McQuaid heads for the historic Old Baptist Chapel in Tewkesbury on Thursday 23rd November.

Sarah will play an intimate concert in a wonderfully atmospheric venue.

The building, which was converted into a chapel during the 18th Century, will provide a perfect setting for Sarah's relaxed and informal performance style.

She is looking forward to returning following a sell-out performance at the chapel last year.

Honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ards International Guitar Festival in Northern Ireland (2017), Sarah has also drawn critical praise for her voice and her rapport with audiences.

Her lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality and brilliant musicianship on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience.

Born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holding dual Irish and American citizenship and now settled in Cornwall, Sarah brings the eclecticism of her background to her "captivating, unorthodox songwriting" (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation.

Journalist Neil March described Sarah as "one of the most instantly recognisable voices in current music ... shades of Joni Mitchell in a jam with Karen Carpenter and Lana Del Rey," while the Huffington Post said "I've attended hundreds of concerts of all kinds, and her subtle mastery onstage launches her straight into my fave shows ever."

The Tewkesbury concert will begin at 8pm with doors open at 7.30pm. The Old Baptist Chapel is situated in a medieval alleyway off Church Street. Please note there is no bar at the venue, but audience members may bring their own soft or alcoholic drinks if they wish.

Tickets are £14 in advance online from https://www.wegottickets.com/event/585245/  or from the John Moore Museum in Church Street. To check museum opening times call 01684 297174.

Tickets will be £16 on the door (cash only) if available.
