Artists team up for their first joint exhibition

Where: Dove Gallery, High Street, Winchcombe

When: Friday, November 8, to Thursday, November 14

Two artistic friends are joining forces and staging an exhibition in the newly-opened Dove Gallery in Winchcombe.

Jane Ware and Sue Jolley have known each other for over 20 years as 'neighbour artists' each summer at Art in the Park in Imperial Gardens, Cheltenham, but have never had a private exhibition together, so this is a first for them.

Jane said: "We both know Kate Dove from

when she exhibited at Art in The Park, and is now a highly acclaimed international artist, and owner of the newly opened Dove Gallery in Winchcombe.

"So for our first exhibition we have chosen to showcase Sue's big bold vibrant abstracts, which will compliment my smaller colourful acrylics, café scenes, and Manhattan skylines."

Sue, who regularly exhibits throughout the Cotswolds and beyond, said: "Inspiration for my work often comes from a fleeting glimpse or impression of light.

"This can take many forms, from a superb sunrise or sunset, to a prism of light reflecting golden on water.

"Cornwall holds many happy memories for

me, and each year I take three weeks off to go down and paint overlooking the sea.

"Travel throughout India and the Far East has left a lasting impression, and often I draw ideas purely from the colourful markets and back streets.

"Abstract concentrates these feelings to evoke an impression of colours and shapes, always changing and evolving."
