Airport hosts four-day Easter Extravaganza
29th March 2018
Where: Cotswold Airport, Kemble, near Cirencester
When: Friday, March 30, to Monday, April 2
Cotswold Airport is hosting a four-day Easter Extravaganza Celebration to mark the centenary of the founding of the RAF.
The RAF's 100th birthday falls on Easter Sunday 2018, so the events team at the airport have decided to theme their Easter celebrations this year with RAF music and a big 'RAFfle' to raise funds for the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Among the many attractions will be a thrilling simulator where visitors can experience flying in a Harrier, Euro Fighter, Red Arrow or F18!
There will also be face painting and soft archery laid on, as well as a pop-up Cotswold Airport shop. Cotswold Airport is providing a large marquee in case of inclement weather, standing right by the runway.
Other attractions throughout the weekend include a fly-in with free landings for all military schemed and vintage aircraft, a vintage car and bike drive-in, a giant inflatable slide and toddler play area.
Themed patriotic RAF music will be played throughout the weekend. On-site restaurant AV8 will be giving away free chocolate aeroplanes to little ones eating lunch in the restaurant.
There will also be additional outside catering with a hog roast, jacket potatoes and crepes by the Notorious P.I.G and P.O.D.
The first prize in the raffle is an aerobatic flight in the Citabria.
The celebration runs every day from Good Friday to Easter Monday from 9am to 5pm. Entry to the event is free.
