A Celebration of Ella Fitzgerald

Join chanteuse Louisa Revolta for a celebration of the music sung by Ella Fitzgerald at Tetbury Goods Shed on Saturday, April 23, at 7.30pm.

Best known as the founding member of the internationally touring vintage inspired vocal harmony group The Spitfire Sisters, Louisa Revolta is also one of the directors of Winchester Jazz Festival and the assistant manager of Vintage Keys Studio.

Louisa has curated a programme of music performed by the great Ella Fitzgerald including songs from the Great American Songbook as well as tunes discovered along Louisa's own musical journey.

She invites you to delve into the archives of Ella's extensive catalogue and - with the help of her talented musicians - will take you on a journey of haunting melodies, frantic scat and swinging tunes!

Louisa Revolta is a creative whirlwind born and raised in Winchester. Music has always been her passion and she performs professionally all over the world. Her specialism is in Jazz singing, scat improvisation and vocal mimicry.

A highlight of her singing career was the Ella Fitzgerald Centenary concert which she performed in September 2017 to a sell out audience. Louisa's improvisation skills have enabled her to play alto saxophone for Hed Kandi internationally and for several other club nights playing live to a DJ set.

She has also played alto sax for the Tuba Libres, Head Rush and several other function bands across the south. She teaches singing, saxophone and piano and has led and arranged music for vocal workshops and choirs.

In 2020 Louisa released an album called 'A Celebration of Ella' which is a collection of tunes sung by Ella Fitzgerald and includes several highly demanding scat performances.

In 2011 Louisa established the internationally acclaimed vocal harmony group The Spitfire Sisters and has written and produced several albums for them. They continue to tour across the south of England and perform to sell-out audiences.
