Punchline Talks! Chris Nelson is the new Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner -voted in on 6th May 2021 with 91,097 votes and beating his nearest rival by 31,259.
Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen caught up with him. Eyebrows have been raised on how Mr Nelson is going to find the cash to pay for the 300 additional police officers promised in the election.
Is the Gloucestershire commissioner fund going to continue supporting over 400 community projects?
The cost of the mounted division with its four horses and how many horses are needed in the county? Do they intend to build a carvery?
Is he going to maintain the fleet of electric vehicles and maintain Gloucestershire's prize of being the greenest police force in the UK?
What are his plans for PCSO's - like other forces in the UK, will they get given handcuffs and more powers?

It is a bit longer than the usual interview but well worth the visit to get under the skin of the man, who at the end of the day helps protect us all.
