E119 Punchline Talks! With Juliet Davenport, Matthew Burke, and Russell Warner
By Mark Owen
Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Fridays national & regional newspapers, discuss what is happening in their own business sector and in their own individual businesses.
Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.
The Business Breakfast briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.
This week's panel of experts were:
Juliet Davenport - climate scientist, renewable pioneer, business women, environmental entrepreneur. Juliet has spent the past 20 years not just advocating for solutions to climate change, but actively solving them.
She founded the UK's first renewable electricity supplier The Good Energy Group in 2000 and stood down 2020.
She has just released her first book: The Green Start Up.
Matthew Burke - headmaster of award-winning St. Edwards School, an independent school in Cheltenham with over 600 students, over 100 staff and a turnover of £10million.
Russell Warner - managing director of West End Office Suites, a thriving hub of 32 companies located within the stones throw of Junction 13 of the M5.
He is a champion for SME's and is the area lead for Gloucestershire's Federation of Small Businesses.
There is no doubt a green feel to the show this week but also an expert segment about the Government's plans for independent schools from Matthew and the overall additional cost to society and the impact it could have on his school.
