Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Fridays national & regional newspapers, discuss what is happening in their own business sector and in their own individual businesses.

Taking their places on the business briefing panel this week were:

  • Guy Stenson - CEO of Gloucester City Homes (GCH) - an independent housing association which currently owns and manages 5,000 homes with over 12,500 customers within a five mile radius of Gloucester city centre. The company currently has 180 staff with a turnover of approx. £22million.
  • Gethin Evans - is the newly appointed communications and marketing lead/manager for the Golden Valley Development, which is Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Councils planned 200 hectare development in Cheltenham to transform the site into the UK's national cyber innovation centre as well as building 3,700 homes.
  • Patricia Hay - managing director and founder of First base Employment, a Stroud based recruitment agency with nine staff and a turnover of just shy of £2million - this year they are celebrating 25 years in business.
  • Sam Holliday - Business development manager for Federation of Small Businesses representing over 7,200 members regionally and over 150,000 nationally. Sam is also the ex-editor of the Bath Chronicle after spending over 20 years in local and regional journalism.

The panel fire through lots of subjects, with news and views, and there is something to learn for everyone who is interested in business from the people who are at the sharp end of running their companies.
