E191 Punchline Talks! BBB show with Chris Pockett, David Oldfield, William Lee and Hayden Hunter

Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Fridays national & regional newspapers, discuss what is happening in their own business sector and in their own individual businesses.

Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.

This week's panel of experts were:

Chris Pockett - Head of communications at Renishaw. The engineering giant is Gloucestershire's largest privately owned employer with a turnover £690.3million employing over 2,600 across two sites in the county. Its latest half-year report revealed a rise of 3% in revenue for the six months ended December 31 while profit for the trailblazing innovators also rose by near 2% amid an increase of nearly 100 new staff. But the rise in employment costs will add on a £4million to staff costs - we'll find out how the company is doing and what's next.

David Oldfield - Managing director & owner of Blue Sky Signs - the company has grown rapidly over the past couple of years, specialising in all types of signage, print, vehicle graphic and also printed all the Punchline branded clothes and all our recycling mobile phone bins - it's also a very period for exhibitions - so we'll find out how it's all going.

William Lee - director and co-owner of Wholly Gelato ice cream & milk based at Elmore Farm. Last year the company took a massive punt, invested £60,000 in having a unit at the Gloucester Food Dock. So, we'll find out how that is going - and hopefully hearing about a few lessons learnt along the way.

Hayden Hunter - chief tea officer at Driftea - Hayden has just launched the new Britain's 'hard' iced tea brand - a low calorie , no added sugar product - so we find out more about that and how its going - and we're going to do a little taster test on the show too as Hayden has kindly dropped off a can for each of the panellists to try.

Another jam packed edition as always including: Eco tax, stolen Paddington Bear and the RAF, Unwanted birthday cards cost company £25k in damages, German defence spending, proposed Labour copyright materials AI, RFU moving to Twickenham, Birmingham bin strikes ..and much, much more.
