E173 Punchline Talks! Mark Cummings, Very Reverand Andrew Zihni, Amanda Toner and Geoffrey Newsome

Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Fridays national & regional newspapers, discuss what is happening in their own business sector and in their own individual businesses.

Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.

The Business Breakfast Briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.

This week's panel of experts were:

The Very Reverand Andrew Zihni - The Dean of Gloucester Cathedral. Christmas is obviously one of the cathedrals busiest periods but what does it mean for it financially - for some in the hospitality sector it is a make or break for a business, so let's find out all about that and hopefully get a peek behind the scenes - how and when is Christmas planned and who is involved.

Mark Cummings - former BBC Radio Gloucestershire breakfast presenter. He's been a journalist, presenter, reporter, quiz master - he's Yorkshireman, a lover of the county and now he's an author. He launched his first book 'GLORIOUS GLOUCESTERSHIRE' and has been rolling it out at book fairs and festivals - so we'll find all how it has all gone, and lessons learnt along the way.

Amanda Toner - co-owner and inspirational officer at Incito Group, the company that holds the franchise for all eight McDonalds stores in Gloucestershire, with 1,100 staff and a turnover of £46million. This is a company that never stops changing, challenging and growing. Since covid they have seen a massive shift in home deliveries and takeaways - how big a slice of the business has it become?

Geoffrey Newsome - CEO of The ITSA Digital Trust (ITSA) - formerly IT Schools Africa - the charity has helped 38,000 people in Gloucestershire with IT skills and IT equipment and has provided an IT education to over 6 million children in Africa. The charity will celebrate its 20th anniversary and the launch of its new business club at Kohler Mira's 'Space 100' venue in Cheltenham on November 21 So, we'll find out all about that - why, where and how you can get involved.

Another jam-packed edition as always - also covered today: Gloucestershire Airport sale, GWR trains on Sunday, buying books, the human brain, Chris Hoy, John Lewis and Jamie Oliver, retired women having less access to computers and the internet, Submarine and The Sun Newspaper and so much more and more.
