Zoom sales continue to soar

Zoom has been a lifeline for businesses over the last year and sales have more than doubled as the Covid-19 pandemic continues.

In the three months to 30th April, Zoom's revenues rose to £676m ($956m), up from £232m ($328m) in the same period in 2020.

Profits in the first quarter reached more than £160m ($227m), up from around £19.1m ($27m) in the first quarter of last year, as reported by the BBC.

As people across the world shifted to remote working almost overnight, Zoom instantly became a household name.

But as more people get vaccinated, social distancing eases and employees return to the workplace, could Zoom's fortunes be about to turn?

In a bid to stay relevant as offices reopen, the company is set to launch Zoom Events, aimed at businesses hosting events which mix in-person and online elements.
