Your Co-op Travel, which has 71 travel agency branches across England's mid counties, including four in Gloucestershire, has been awarded Regional Agency of the Year for Central England (Large) at the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards, for the tenth consecutive year.

Your Co-op Travel has branches in Cheltenham High Street, Cinderford, Lydney and Gloucester at Eastgate Street.

TheTravel Weekly  annual Agent Achievement Awards are highly regarded in the industry for travel agencies and agents and recognise excellence in a range of categories and specialisms.

The awards ceremony was held in London, on 13 July, and was hosted by television and radio favourite, Mark Wright, alongside Travel Weekly editor-in-chief Lucy Huxley. The award winners are selected based on voting by travel industry suppliers including tour operators, airlines, cruise lines and tourist boards, with some categories decided by panels of expert judges.

The Central England Regional Agency of the Year (Large) award was accepted by Alison Holmes, head of retailing for The Midcounties Co-operative's travel business, and Kim Foat, North West & Scotland area manager for Your Co-op Travel.

Alison Holmes said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have been named Central England Regional Agency of the Year (Large) for the tenth year running.

"This award is testament to the passion, dedication, and expertise of the colleagues in our 71 travel agencies as well as the head office team in Walsall.

"The school holidays begin this weekend and, amidst reports of airport strikes, flight cancellations and the current heatwave in Europe, our expert travel agents are on hand with advice and support to ensure customers get away as smoothly as possible this summer and beyond."
