You can do a bit extra for city businesses by spending with a Gloucester Gift Card

Gloucester folk can now do a bit extra for city businesses in the lead-up to Christmas thanks to the Gloucester Gift Card.

Available to use in a number of city outlets, the Gift Card uses the existing Mastercard network to create a 'Gloucester currency.'

Gloucester is the latest city to work with gift card developer, Miconex on a similar scheme.

With the support of the Gloucester BID, Marketing Gloucester have been working to get business on board with the gift card programme.

Since Miconex launched the gift card programme it has helped to keep more than £1 million within local areas.

Shoppers who redeem gift cards on average spend 40 per cent more than the value received.

Since 2015 when Miconex launched the first town and city gift card in Perth over 30 destinations have joined the gift card family
