YO! Sushi joins CVA conveyor belt
By Sarah Wood | 6th August 2020
Sushi chain YO! is the latest restaurant to consider a CVA to help reduce its rental costs as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
While no decision to proceed has yet been taken, the company which has a branch in Cheltenham, is working with accountancy firm Deloitte to explore the potential for a company voluntary arrangement (CVA), unless landlords are able to make rent concessions, as reported by Sky.
It is the latest in a long line of restaurant chains to look into CVAs since the industry was plunged into crisis by the Covid-19 pandemic.
YO! has 70 UK restaurants, employing around 1,400 people. It is not yet known whether it would look to close any of them as part of a CVA process.
The UK's Eat Out to Help Out discount scheme is expected to boost sales at sites which have been able to reopen.
