Women attacked in town car park

Police are appealing for witnesses after two women were assaulted in Cheltenham.

The incident near St James Street car park took place at around 4.50am on Friday, 16th February.

It's believed that the two women left Domino's on the Lower High Street at 4:38am and headed towards St James Street car park when they were approached by a male before being attacked.

A woman in her 30s suffered bruising to her eye socket and a second woman, also in her 30s was punched but suffered no serious injuries.

A Gloucestershire police spokesman said: "We are trying to find any witnesses to the assault as we believe that some members of the public tried to assist.

"The women were taken home in a taxi and the driver may have information which will help with our enquiries."
