Woman suffers serious head injuries in traffic collision in picturesque Gloucestershire village

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in a picturesque Gloucestershire village which saw a woman airlifted to hospital in Oxford for surgery on head injuries.

The incident occurred at around 4.15pm on Thursday afternoon on the B425 near to The Village Pub in Barnsley near Cirencester.

The 33-year-old woman, who was a pedestrian was involved in the collision with a silver Vauxhall Insignia.

The woman suffered serious head injuries and the air ambulance was called to take her to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.

She has since undergone surgery on the injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the car, a man from Birmingham, was not injured in the incident.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw either the vehicle or the pedestrian before the collision occurred.

Anyone with information, or dashcam footage, is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 340 of 8 August.
