Woman assaulted in Cirencester

Gloucestershire Constabulary are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the early hours of Sunday 6 August.

A 29 year old woman was walking along Somerford Road in Cirencester at 3.15am when a man asked her if she knew of a taxi firm. As she walked into Oaklands the man punched her from behind and grabbed her around the neck. She lashed out and scratched the man's face - enough to draw blood - and she managed to run away dropping her handbag as she went.

The unknown offender is described as white and wearing a red coat. He will have a new scratch on his face near one of his eyes.
