Stroud District Council's tourism team have released a set of five postcards to promote the Stroud district and increase further awareness for the Discover Stroud District film.

The instagram-style postcards have a retro feel and were designed by local designer Adam Hinks of PDCo. They have been released in time for the Christmas shopping season.

The postcards feature Uley Bury, the Stroudwater Canal, Art Couture Painswick Festival, Minchinhampton Common and Stroud town centre. They all feature the hashtag #DiscoverStroudDistrict

The postcard packs are now on sale at Stroud Tourist Information Centre in the Subscription Rooms at a cost of £5 for a pack of five designs. The tourism team hopes that local shops across the district will start stocking them too.

Stroud District Council's tourism officer Shirley Wood, said: "We wanted to veer away from the traditional rectangular postcard design and come up with something a bit more funky, to suit the arty image of the Stroud district."

Nina Tyson-Maffey, Stroud Tourist Information Centre assistant, said: "We've had a lot of interest in the postcards already, not only from visitors looking for a souvenir of their holiday, but also locals who have been

sending them out to family and friends. They make ideal Christmas gifts."

If your business or retail outlet would like to stock the postcards, contact Stroud Tourism on 01453 754307.
