Winter Maze hopes to improve city's Christmas offering - VIDEO

Shoppers will be encouraged to lose themselves this Christmas at a Winter Maze in the heart of the city centre during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. Intrepid explorers of all ages will be challenged to find their way through the 2-metre-high maze in King's Square Gloucester.

The maze runs from Friday 24 November to Wednesday 27 December and will stay open later to coincide with late night shopping evenings. There will be special events and prize giveaways throughout December so look out for special treats.

Brought to you by Gloucester BID, the Winter Maze will help to improve the city's Christmas offering to locals and visitors by complementing established markets and attractions. The BID is committed to bringing free family activities and events to the city centre to help boost footfall and dwell time, which in turn has a positive impact on the city's retail sector.

Peter White, King's Walk Shopping Centre manager and Gloucester BID board member, said:

"We're very happy to support the Winter Maze in partnership with the BID. It's encouraging that Gloucester city centre businesses are working together to help attract more and more visitors, especially at an important time like Christmas. We look forward to welcoming families over the coming weeks."
