Who is Gloucestershire’s biggest flipper?

Chef Toby Refoy of The Golden Cross Inn in Cirencester has challenged the town's other kitchen pros to a pancake flipping competition.

On Pancake Day next week, the confident cook will be taking on Foyez Rahman of Rajdoot and Malt and Anchor's award-winning chef Ciprian Pavlenko.

Toby said: "I have seen Foyez flip his crepes in his restaurant, it was this that gave me the idea for a little in town competition. If there are any other chefs that wish to join in then please come and join us on the evening for the ultimate Cotswold flip-off."

Foyez said: "Toby comes in quite a bit after service for a bite to eat and we got chatting. I am delighted to take him on."

Ciprian said: "We have just won Best Newcomers in the National Fish and Chips Awards, so I now have a taste for winning and hope to follow it up by finishing first here in Cirencester - top of the flippers."

If any other Cirencester chef want to compete to be the biggest flipper, they should contact The Golden Cross Inn on 01285 652137.
