Want a whippy while you work?

Then get in touch with Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice to be part of a special 'frozen' fundraising drive on Tuesday 28th August.

Following on from a visit to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice by Mr Whippy Cheltenham during the heat wave at the start of August, business manager Will Capstick has offered the charity a one-off special fundraising round to help raise funds for its care.

On Tuesday 28th August, a trained volunteer from the hospice will be taking to the streets of Cheltenham in the Mr Whippy Cheltenham ice cream van along with the team from PunchlineGloucester.com magazine, visiting local businesses and trading estates to help bust the post Bank Holiday blues.

They will give a whippy in return for a donation to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, raising vital funds for the only inpatient hospice in Gloucestershire .

Will Capstick, from Mr Whippy Cheltenham said, "I'm happy to be in a position where I can help the hospice raise some money to help them continue the great work they do. Since our van visited the hospice in Leckhampton earlier this month and I've learnt about they do to help people it got me thinking of how I can use my service to support their care and cause. Hopefully we can use our ice cream van to raise some money and awareness as well as making people happy along the way."

Nicknamed 'Lolly for Leckhampton', hospice fundraisers hope the special ice cream round will raise awareness and funds for its care, while bringing a taste of summer to workers in Cheltenham who will be back at work after the Bank Holiday.

Kelly Rumble, Community Fundraising Manager at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice said, "Patients, volunteers and staff really enjoyed Mr Whippy Cheltenham coming up to the hospice at the start of the month, and the donation of ice creams for patients who were not able to enjoy the visit was such a lovely gesture. We were thrilled when Will got back in touch to offer us this fantastic way of raising funds for the hospice. We got in touch with our friends and supporters at Gloucester Punchline Magazine to offer something fun to businesses in Cheltenham."

"Any Cheltenham businesses, business parks, trading estates or companies wanting a #whippywhileyouwork can contact us by calling 01242 246270 or emailing leckhampton.fundraising@sueryder.org to book a slot."

"Keep an eye out on social media for lots of photos from the day too!"

Mark Owen, Managing Director of Moose Marketing and PR and Editor of Punchline said, "Sue Ryder are in the serious business of providing specialist care, but they have a fantastic and fun way of raising awareness and funds so that care can continue. We are more than happy to do our bit in supporting them."
