Weird Fish shortlisted for annual Drapers Awards 2017

Cheltenham-based clothing brand Weird Fish is celebrating being shortlisted for the Drapers Awards 2017 in the Mainstream Brand category.

The Drapers Awards are the most highly-respected industry awards aimed at recognising the top performing and most innovative businesses. The Mainstream Brand award acknowledges a business that has proven commercial success, with a strong product offer, a good pricing plan, strong relationships with stockists and an excellent sourcing and logistics strategy.

John Stockton, managing director of Weird Fish, said: "We are immensely proud to be sitting alongside some of the best retailers in the country. This is our third nomination for this category and we're hoping that our progression in the industry this year will enable us to top the competition.

"It's been a fantastic year for the brand so far. In August we opened a new store concept in Scarborough, the first of its kind for us. We appointed design group Whiteroom to deliver a new concept to bring our physical presence up to the same level as our highly successful online operation. Store re-fittings are also in the pipeline for Newquay and Dartmouth and we're excited to see where this journey will take us."

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 30th November at the Roundhouse in London.

Weird Fish Clothing was established in 1993. It has 14 branded stores across the country and stockists that include Debenhams and Cotswold Outdoor.

Punchline says it's great to see this local brand doing so well and getting the recognition it deserves. We wish Weird Fish all the very best for the awards.
