By Bev Hawes | 3rd April 2018
Areas of Gloucestershire were warned of flooding this afternoon.
Following heavy rainfall three flood warnings were issued for the Tewkesbury area. The Environment Agency said immediate action was required.
Flood warnings were given for areas around the River Severn at Deerhurst, Chaceley and Haw Bridge and Severn Ham, Tewkesbury.
Flooding of low lying property adjacent to the river is possible
Similar flood warnings were issued for the Severn at Sandhurst and Maisemore.
A less severe flood alert was given for the Severn Estuary between Gloucester and Sharpness which means local roads may be affected.
As our pictures and videos show the flood plains around Tewkesbury are rapidly filling with flood water.
The Environment Agency said: "Low level flooding of land and roads adjacent to the river is possible.
"Underlying river levels are rising between tides as a result of rainfall on Friday and Sunday night. River levels are expected to continue rising between tides, remaining high until Wednesday."
