Wanted man found and arrested

Following a wanted appeal issued earlier this month, 24-year-old James Taplin from Cinderford, Forest of Dean has been arrested.

A judge had issued a warrant for his arrest after he was mistakenly released from jail. He had also been wanted in connection with an alleged offence of being in possession of a bladed weapon.

Taplin was arrested by Devon & Cornwall Police officers yesterday, and he is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on Thursday, October 27.

Gloucestershire officers had been working with a number of neighbouring police forces and conducting searches at various locations over recent weeks in a bid to locate him.

Police have thanked everyone who shared the previous wanted appeal and submitted information on his possible whereabouts.
