Walk, run, cycle or swim miles for Maggie's cancer charity this July

Walk, run, cycle and/or swim your way this July and support people living with cancer, their family and friends.

Maggie's in Cheltenham has launched Miles for Maggie's to challenge you throughout July. The challenge matches your own personal fitness level and you can set your own goal of 25, 50, 100 or 250 (or more!) miles and complete it at your own pace within the month.

You can sign up and join "Team Maggie's" for just £5 and they will send you a free Maggie's t-shirt. Register here: milesformaggies2021.eventbrite.com. They will help you log your miles by creating a fundraising page and if you fundraise £150, you will get a Maggie's medal!

The choice of how you do it and where you go is yours. With every mile, you can make a real difference to people in the local community who need Maggie's support right now. Together, with everyone's individual challenges, can we walk, run, cycle or swim the distance between all Maggie's centres, at home and abroad? A total of 16,659 miles (as the crow flies!).

Maggie's centres are a warm and welcoming place, with qualified professionals on hand to help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down. Their professional staff offer psychological and emotions support, as well as help with money worries and treatment questions.

Over the course of the last year the charity has been supporting thousands of people who have been impacted by coronavirus as Maggie's in Cheltenham's Centre Head Nicola explains: "Maggie's has been there for people with cancer and their families during the most difficult of times. We've created 'Miles for Maggie's' as a way of bringing individuals and teams together.

"People with cancer are having a particularly difficult time just now and need our professional support now more than ever. Events like this raise awareness and lets people know, we're here."

"Maggie's in Cheltenham relies entirely on voluntary donations to allow us to keep on developing our unique programme of free support for all those living with cancer in the area."
