Mr Hughes said: "We are delighted to welcome Uplands guests, families and staff under our wing.

"As a Charity they can take comfort, that we are safe, stable and are in care for the right reasons - not for profit. We look forward to furthering the excellent support Uplands gives in the community"

Chair of Trustees of Uplands Care Service John Colquhoun added, "I am really pleased that we have been able to merge Uplands into another not-for-profit care provider and thereby secured its future in perpetuity which is great news for the community.

"It is particularly gratifying that, without exception, the responses that I have received from local organisations have been very positive about this news."

Suzanne Booker, Director of Care at Lilian Faithfull Care says, "We will cherish and nurture the community service Uplands has provided over many years in the Stroud Valleys"

Lilian Faithfull Care has been delivering care for 70 years, caring for 300 residents with 450 amazing staff.
