VIDEO: Work to start on firm’s new Gloucestershire headquarters

Building work on a new headquarters for a household name in the world of insurance is due to start in Gloucester - and the firm has released an enticing short video.

Flagging up once again the move it announced in October, city-based Ecclesiastical Insurance has now released a short video showing off the exterior of the planned building.

The 30-second film shows what the building exterior will look like once completed in late 2020.

Planning permission was won earlier this year and the firm, currently based in Brunswick Road in the centre of the city, has revealed work is expected to start next month on the site at Gloucester Business Park, Brockworth.

Caroline Taplin, group human resources director for Ecclesiastical, one of the county's largest private employers, said: "It's exciting to be able to share this video. There is a still lot of work to be done on site however the video really helps us to bring the project to life for our employees and the local community."

Ecclesiastical is working with owner and developer of Gloucester Business Park, Arlington, to create its new office.

James Raven, chief executive officer of Gloucester Business Park owner Arlington, said: "This is a great news story for Gloucester and will further support the mix of amenity and vibrancy at the Park. We are delighted to be partnering with Ecclesiastical to deliver them this prestigious new HQ building".

The building of Ecclesiastical's new office is expected to start next month.

Ecclesiastical is one of the UK's top five corporate donors to charity in the 2017-18 UK Guide to Company Giving.

After donating £50m to charity in three years, Ecclesiastical launched a bold vision in 2016 to raise £100m for good causes by the end of 2020. In |March 2019, the Group announced it had already raised £64 million towards its target.
