VIDEO Budget 2024 reactions: Alex McIntyre MP for Gloucester

Alex McIntyre is the Labour MP for Gloucester, who was elected on July 4, 2024. Here he gives his reactions to Chancellor Rachel Reeves' first Budget.

Mr McIntyre reflected on the importance of the first ever Budget delivered by a female Chancellor and said this is a Budget for business, investment and development.

Punchline-Gloucester.com editor, Mark Owen asked him:

  • What the impact of the Budget will be for the business community in Gloucester?
  • Is the Levelling Up money there for the Eastgate Shopping Centre development?
  • With increases in employer National Insurance and big rises in the minimum wage, this doesn't look like a Budget for businesses...
  • Have the leaks about the Budget put a dampener on it and spooked the business community?
