Food fair with a difference coming to Cirencester

For some it is a way of life and for others it is food at its most extreme - but the growing popularity of vegan food is due to be celebrated at a festival in Gloucestershire.

The growing market has seen the number of vegans in Britain rise by 60 per cent in the last decade alongside a growing number of others who are choosing to limit meat in their diets for a variety of reasons.

Billed as the first ever vegan food fair to take place in Cirencester, the event is being billed as showcasing everything from packaged food to buy and take away on the day to hot and cold takeaways options to eat there and then.

Traders are expected to fill the town's Corn hall from 10am to 4pm and hope for similar success to the likes of last year's event in Gloucester where visitors queued out of the door and around the corner just to get in.

Similar events have also been held in Cheltenham and Stroud.

It will not just be about food. Clothing and accessories, crafts, lifestyle brands, health and beauty products will all be on offer.

As well as products there will be talks, children's activities and demonstrations.

Entry to the event, due to take place on Sunday, September 23, is £3. Under 14s accompanied by a paying adult will get in free.
