VIDEO: Ukulele business is striking all the right notes

Matt Stead has turned his love and knowledge of the ukulele into a successful business.

With a wealth of experience at playing the popular musical instrument, he runs The Uke Room at Harts Barn Craft Centre at Monmouth Road, Longhope.

We met up with Matt whilst delivering the latest PunchlineGloucester.com magazine to businesses across Gloucestershire and Ross-on-Wye.

Matt said: "We sell all kinds of ukuleles and we teach how to play them as well. They have become really popular. We haver about 50 in the shop and sell them online as well, throughout the country and across Europe."

He also runs a Ukulele retreat event for enthusiasts which proving very popular.

Known locally as the Ukulele Man of Ross, Matt also tutors school students and performs at events.

You can pick up a ukulele for around £50 but they range up to £3,000 for the more extravagant versions.
