UK manufacturing beating EU
By Sarah Wood | 4th December 2018
Growth in Britain's manufacturing sector is outpacing every other major European nation, according to the latest figures.
Research group IHS Markit's index of factory activity in November, where 50 is the cut-off between growth and decline, showed the UK came in at 53.1, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The news wasn't so good for mainland Europe, with the figure for the eurozone coming out at 51.8, its lowest since August 2016.
Manufacturing growth is at a 31-month low in Germany and a 26-month low in France, while Italy hit a 47-month low.
