Two Rivers Housing appoints new corporate director

Two Rivers Housing has appointed a new corporate director. Suzanne Hemingway will join the group's leadership team as corporate director of operations from August 4th.

A former strategic director at Cambridge City Council, Suzanne brings a wealth of experience to the group where she will take charge of the operations teams including housing, development, asset management and planned maintenance and repairs service provided by the group's subsidiary company Centigen.

She will also play a key role in helping the group on its journey towards becoming carbon zero by 2050.

Her previous experience includes lead housing associate for East of England LGA, where she was responsible for supporting the organisation to improve its services so they better met strategic objectives as well as customer needs, the position of interim growth manager for South Cambridgeshire District Council and, a role as interim head of housing and well-being at Northampton Borough Council.

More recently, Suzanne has been very involved in climate issues, including 'greening the fleet', making sure that new homes are energy efficient and low carbon by design, improving the energy efficiency of older properties and tackling the climate impact of swimming pools.

Commenting on her appointment, Suzanne said: "This is an exciting time to be joining Two Rivers Housing. My career in housing started as a volunteer at a women's refuge centre and then at a night shelter before I took on roles in supported housing and housing management and strategy.

"It's something that I am really passionate about and I am really looking forward to joining the team and using my experience to support and guide them."

Garry King, chief executive at the Two Rivers Housing Group, added: "We are delighted that Suzanne is joining the Two Rivers Housing executive team. Her passion for housing, depth of experience and proven track record will be a real asset to our organisation and our tenants. We are very much looking forward to working with her and having her as part of the Two Rivers Housing team."

In her spare time, Suzanne is a keen canoeist and hillwalker and is looking forward to exploring the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas.
