Two die after tree falls on car on Gloucestershire road

Gloucestershire Police have confirmed that two people died in a tragic accident that saw a tree fall on a car as it travelled on the B4077 last night.

The ambulance service informed police of the incident at 10.15pm on Thursday evening.

The road was closed north of Ford and at the Toddington roundabout as recovery and investigation work was undertaken.

In a statement, Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "It is likely that the road will be closed for some time today and motorists are asked to find alternative routes.

"The next of kin of those who were in the vehicle has been informed.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident but not spoken to officers should call 101 and quote incident 405 of 21 November."
