Training sessions, workshops offered by MP

Cheltenham MP Alex Chalk is offering 20 students an opportunity to improve their employment prospects by learning new skills and enhancing their CVs.

He is inviting students aged 16 to 21 from the town to apply for his places on his fourth annual internship, which will take place on 21-23 August..

Students will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of workshops and training sessions, including drafting a mock speech and a press release.

They will also participate in a debate in the Cheltenham Council Chamber and will learn more about the political process.

Mr Chalk (pictured) said: ''Our previous internship weeks have proved very valuable and have generated excellent feedback.

"This is an important part of engaging young people with the democratic process.

"It helps young people learn new skills and gain valuable CV points. I'm delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to another 20 local students this year."

The internship course is open to all Cheltenham students.

Interested parties should apply by emailing Alex Chalk's office on ben.carlton@parliament.uk , outlining why they would like to take part.

Applications must be submitted by this Friday (21 July).
