TikTok launches business advertising tools

Video-sharing social network platform TikTok has announced the launch of 'TikTok for Business', which looks to provide businesses with a range of marketing solutions to help boost their image online.

The tools are designed to give brands and marketers an opportunity to be creative storytellers and engage with the TikTok community - which is thought to have reached 800 million users worldwide.

Organisations will be able to create a range of advertising content on the platform: TopView adverts which will appear as soon as users open the app and In-Feed videos which appear in users personalised feeds.

Other features include Branded Hashtag Challenges allowing retailers to create unique hashtags and attracting likes, comments and shares and also an augmented reality Brand Scan tool.

Whilst many of these tools already exist on the app, TikTok for business looks to bring them all together into a new dedicated platform. This also paves the way for further marketing tools in the future.

These new services offered by the social media giant challenge similar advertising opportunities available across rival social media platforms Snapchat and Instagram.

Stuart Flint, TikTok's head of Europe global business solutions said: "We've seen more and more brands embrace the unique and creative ways the TikTok community expresses themselves through video.

"The experience is real, light-hearted and fun, and as we've seen over the course of these dynamic times, users and brands have the ability to make a meaningful and positive impact on their communities.

"We're excited to officially introduce TikTok for Business and continue building products, services and resources for marketers to engage their communities in a new and innovative way, and show them how TikTok is a creative and valuable marketing platform."
