Tidal Training appoints new operations services manager

The Cheltenham-based healthcare training provider, Tidal Training, has added to its growing team with the appointment of Lydia Scroggs as its new operations services manager.

With an extensive nursing background, Ms Scroggs has previously worked in the RAF and the NHS, joining the team as an experienced and highly competent nurse manager.

Since embarking upon her nursing career in Staffordshire in 1985, she has spent the last 27 years in the RAF where she has built on her wealth of skills in personnel management, healthcare governance and risk management, leading small and large medical teams.

Until 2020, she worked in partnership with the NHS to treat both military and civilian patients at the RCDM (Royal Centre for Defence Medicine) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. As the clinical lead for military nurses and AHPs, she oversaw 160 personnel based in the Midlands and Oxfordshire.

Earlier this year, she joined Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust on a temporary contract as a COVID-19 registered immuniser and clinical lead.

In her new role, she will be tasked with overseeing and supporting the trainers in the delivery of bespoke, quality clinical, social care, mental health and learning disabilities training to clients throughout the UK.

She said: "I am relishing working with Tidal Training. I am passionate about the delivery of quality patient care and I look forward to working with colleagues and with clients across the country to help provide first-class tailored training opportunities which will in turn enable healthcare workers to keep offering the highest standard of care for patients."

Colin Frensham, director of Tidal Training, said: "I am delighted to welcome Lydia to our team. She brings an abundance of healthcare, medical and clinical management experience to the role and will be a huge asset to both the company and our clients who will benefit from her experience and expertise.

"She joins us with an impressive track record, and I know that she will provide strong managerial and leadership skills and help us ensure that our clients' team members continue to have access to high quality training, to fulfil their learning potential and achieve their professional development goals."
