Three Gloucestershire businesses receive Queen's Award for Enterprise

Three Gloucestershire companies have been awarded with a Queen's Award for Enterprise.

The prestigious awards recognise excellence and outstanding achievements in Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity.

In 2019, 201 companies nationwide have been recognised with each receiving an invitation to a Royal reception and Grant of Appointment certificate.

Each of the winners will fly the Queens Award flag at their HQ and use the Queens Award emblem on all of their packing, advertisements and website. The awards are valid for five years.

In 2019, three Gloucestershire companies have been rewarded. One for Innovation and two for International Trade.

Kohler Mira - Innovation

The Cheltenham-based shower manufacturer's Airboost system utlilises high-pressure air in the waterflow to give the appearance of a power shower, without increasing the water flow.

AIrboost has raised the profile of the company's premium electric power showers and provided a marketing opportunity, with sales increasing at a faster rate than the company average.

Avon Speciality Metals - International Trade

The Gloucester-based company are a global leader in the processing and trading of high-performance metals and alloys.

They have reported a substantial increase in overseas earnings in the past two years, rising from £2.76 million in 2016 to £10.2 million in the year to June 2018.

It was strong exports to North America, Europe and Asia from its state-of-the-art processing plant on Empire Way.

Auger Torque Europe Limited - International Trade

A market leader in earth-moving attachments, their product range include earth drills, augers and landscaping equipment.

They have bases in Australia, China and the United States, but have their group headquarters and research and development facility at Hazleton near Cheltenham.

Overseas revenues have grown by 76 per cent in a three-year period to £15.6 million, with the top overseas markets including Australia, Germany, Russia, France and China.
