The Works to float on Stock Exchange

Discount book and stationery retailer, The Works, is set to float on the Stock Exchange later this month.

Shares in the company will be set at £1.60p, which equates to a market capitalisation of £100 million, as reported by Retail Gazette.

The retailer, which has two stores in Gloucester and one in Cheltenham, said it expects dealings to start from 19th July.

The Works, which also sells gifts, toys, arts and crafts, saw its estate almost double to 400 stores between its purchase by private equity firm Endless in 2008 and 2016.

A further £5.3 million investment announced last August has also seen the company work towards an additional 50 stores, adding to the 63 stores it acquired throughour 2017.

Last year, The Works has its 17th consecutive record-breaking Christmas.
