The perfect way to start the New Year

Brush away the cobwebs! Racing at Cheltenham kick starts the 2019 season with the ever popular New Year's Day fixture on Tuesday 1st January.

Racing and New Year's Day are synonymous in Cheltenham and as one of the biggest racedays outside of The Festival TM, presented by Magners and The November Meeting, it's the only place to be with a competitive seven race card and free family fun.

This New Year's Day we're pleased to announce a price drop of £5 for both in advance and on the day tickets and with children under 18 going free, our Family Days at Cheltenham are an affordable and fun day out for all. In 2019, Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol will be making appearances at intervals throughout the day.

The first 500 children to visit the zone will receive a walking pet balloon and get a balloon model of their choice from Twistina and Twistopher. With entertainment including Showtime Shane, face painting, horse hoppers, colouring in and rosette making, there is an abundance of activities for families to enjoy - and certificates to take home to remember the day. There will also be Ducks, Chickens, Rabbits and Guinea Pigs for children to observe and enjoy.

To round off the Christmas celebrations, the Hipcats Big Band will be performing some of their hits in The Centaur after racing. The Hipcats are well-known for their brilliant performances of upbeat jazz and swing with a cool and contemporary twist of songs you know and love, with a few surprises too.

Gates open at 10.30am on New Year's Day, with the first race at 12.15pm.
