A private equity investor looks set to snap up The Body Shop.

Aurelius Group has entered exclusive negotiations to purchase the retailer, after parent group Natura put it up for sale in the summer, as reported by Retail Gazette.

A deal for The Body Shop, which has stores in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester, is expected to be done in the next month.

It's thought the potential deal will value the skincare and beauty business at less than the £400m - £500m previously quoted.

Natura bought The Body Shop for over £1bn in 2017 and is said to be eager to finalise a deal before the end of 2023.
