Tesco reveals huge Express store expansion

Tesco is planning to open more than 150 Express stores over the next three years as it ramps up expansion plans.

The move will create more than 2,000 jobs in local UK communities, and add to the 2,704 convenience stores it already operates, which include branches across Gloucestershire.

The grocery retailer announced the news to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Tesco Express which saw its first store open in London in 1994.

Last week, the retailer ramped up its value offering in Tesco Express stores by cutting the price of 222 own-brand and branded products, including milk, bread, pasta and coffee.
