Teenager found dead in Gloucester

Police are investigating after an 18-year-old boy was found dead at an address in Gloucester on Monday this week.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Police were called at 10.20am on Monday (September 12) and the next of kin have been informed.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: "We were called to an address on Denmark Road, Gloucester shortly before 10.20am on Monday (September 12) with a report an 18-year-old had died.

"At this time his death is being treated as unexplained, and an investigation is ongoing. The teenage boy's next of kin and the coroner have been informed."

Gloucestershire County Council's children's and young people services will be working with the police during the investigation. The department also stated it will support those who knew him.

Chris Spencer, executive director for children and young people services, said: "The death of this young man is a tragic event. We are doing all we can to make sure that other young people who knew the young man are supported at this very sad time and our thoughts go out to his family and friends."
