Taking steps to raise funds for charity
By Sarah Wood | 26th May 2021
This weekend starts a week long journey of walking for wellbeing to raise funds for the Pied Piper Appeal.
Entry to each event is just £5 per person to help fund equipment at local hospitals and SEND schools.
Walking for mental health, exercise and fresh air has never been so important. There is a choice of many beautiful walks around the county to choose from to do with friends, family and colleagues.
Participants of Walk 4 Wellbeing can either walk their own route in their own time or take part in one or more of the three organised walks.
If you are planning your bank holiday weekend, you could enjoy the first fundraising walk of the week and visit Highnam Court on 30th May to walk around the gardens and enjoy the beautiful grounds.
On 4th June, the charity is holding an exciting night walk around the Brockworth area starting from the WCD Group on Gloucester Business Park. It's a circular walk with a choice of a 10km or 5km route. Walkers should arrive at 9pm and the walk will start at dusk around 9:20pm. The night walk is on is on flat pavements and suitable for wheelchairs.
On 6th June, Walk 4 Wellbeing Week concludes with a circular walk from Belmont School in Warden Hill, Cheltenham up to Leckhampton Hill and back again for tea, with some big climbs along the way! The walk starts at 12.30pm and will take between two and four hours.
The Pied Piper Appeal would like to thank Brunsdon Insurance for supporting Walk 4 Wellbeing Week with T-shirts available to buy online to raise further funds for the charity.
Neville Mills, Brunsdon Insurance MD, said: "As a father myself, the Pied Piper has always been a charity that sits close to my heart. To support the cause of sick and disabled children is an honour, which is why Brunsdon Insurance has been supporting the charity for a number of years.
"The Walk 4 Wellbeing is such a simple and enjoyable way to contribute, with just a £5 donation to take part. We want to do our bit as a local company to help the children have a better quality of life.
"On behalf of the team, we are all extremely proud to be the main sponsor for this event and to support Pied Piper in their fantastic work for the health and wellbeing of the youngest members of our community."
