Sweet success for Hotel Chocolat

Luxury chocolate brand, Hotel Chocolat, has recorded a huge jump in annual revenue.

In a trading update for the 52 week period ending 1st July, the retailer, which has a store in Cheltenham, posted a 12 per cent year-on-year increase in sales to £116 million, as reported by Retail Gazette.

Hotel Chocolat attributed its success to opening 15 new stores throughout the year, which added six per cent to year-on-year sales. The chocolatier also recorded 200,000 new online customers during the year.

The company said customers value its luxury products, highly trained staff and its luxury Chocolate Lock-in sessions.

It also also said it has developed a number of innovative new products for this year's autumn-winter season.

Hotel Chocolat predicts profits will be in line with expectations when it publishes its preliminary results on 27th September.
