Stroud Brewery auction for Ukraine
By Sarah Wood | 19th April 2022
Stroud Brewery is holding an auction for Ukraine in May, following a successful fundraising meal.
More than 90 people came together to enjoy a Ukrainian inspired-menu in March, devised by Stroud Brewery head Chef, Ian Ballantyne, supported by a team of volunteers in the bar, kitchen and front of house. The dinner raised £3,113 for the Disasters Emergency Committee.
A raffle was held alongside the meal, however some of the donations were so generous it was felt they deserved a different platform to recognise their worth. They included many beautiful works of art, a 'house tattoo' by resident artist Imogen Harvey-Lewis, a wild meat hamper, a week stay in the Malverns and a 'fizz tour' from Woodchester Wines.
The auction, with funds going to DEC, will be held on May 6, in partnership and as a precursor to a fundraising event organised by Stroud Against Racism. It will include bands and a late night disco, with seasoned DJs such as DJ Monobrow, and emerging artists from Horsebox, MOULD collective and more.

Stroud Brewery is still welcoming donations for the auction from anyone who would like to help raise more funds, whether it is a meal voucher, tickets to an event or some more amazing art.
The brewery is holding an additional fundraising event on May 13 to raise funds for the Red Cross carrying out vital work supporting refugees. The Glory Hunters are performing a vibrant set of music and tickets can be purchased here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/stroudbrewery/679713/#
Finally, there will be a gathering of refugees and their hosts at the brewery on June 12 for a 'walk and talk' to meet others and develop community networks to support one another.
