Start a new career with National Star

One of Gloucestershire's best-loved charities which supports young people with disabilities, is recruiting new staff.

National Star was the first college in the country to receive double outstanding ratings in inspections by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission since the changes in Ofsted inspection criteria.

It is committed to staff development and training. Its two-week induction programme, which all employees undergo, received one of the first national Princess Royal Training Awards.

The investment in staff aims to not just maintain National Star's high standards but to help its employees advance their careers - and ultimately continue working for the charity.

Alan Stockton joined National Star aged 18 as a care worker and is now, 14 years on, a residential manager.

Mr Stockton said "National Star has been really good at tapping into my thirst for wanting to better myself and has encouraged me to progress.

"No day is ever the same and every day has its challenges - and its anxieties. But knowing you are making a real difference to people is the reward that makes it all worthwhile"

As well as care staff, the college is looking to recruit therapists, nurses, tutors, fundraisers, IT, HR, finance and teaching assistants. It has facilities in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Hereford and Wales.

Recruitment open days:

Thursday 14 June 2018, 2pm to 7:30pm - National Star, Ullenwood GL53 9QU

Wednesday 20 June 2018, 12pm to 6pm -  National Star, Hereford HR4 OEH

Friday 22 June 2018, 12pm to 6pm - National Star, Mamhilad NP4 0HZ
